Los Gatos is tucked away in the southwest corner of San Jose and nestled in the foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains. It is one of San Jose’s most exclusive neighborhoods and the residential choice for many Silicon Valley executives. Its location allows for quick commutes to high-tech companies in the valley and easy access to the beach.
Los Gatos neighborhoods have charming historic homes, including carefully restored Victorian homes, 1940s bungalows, and sprawling ranch-style homes. There is also a wide selection of townhouses, condos, single-family homes, and luxury estates with spectacular views or large acreage.

DINING, ENTERTAINMENT, & SHOPPING
Start your day at the
Los Gatos Café, a casual restaurant whose breakfast selections make it a popular hit with early risers. Their cinnamon rolls are a crowd favorite, and you can also order lunch.
Every dish served at
Manresa combines ingredients from the hills of the Santa Cruz Mountains and waters of the Pacific with high-level cooking techniques. The three-star Michelin restaurant was opened by Chef David Kinch and serves wines from classic Old World regions like Northern Rhone, Loire Valley, and Burgundy.
The Lexington House is located at the heart of Los Gatos and features a menu dictated by the seasons and the purveyor's sense of place. It's a “greener” restaurant than most, offering meals prepared with local, organic, and sustainable ingredients.
Campo di Bocce offers a true Italian taste experience with menu favorites that include bruschetta, fried calamari, paninis, and unique pizzas.
Old Town Los Gatos juxtaposes the old world and trendy upscale fashion. Shop at major retailers, dine at Telefric Barcelona or The Wine Cellar, or get your hair done at Dustin David Salon. The indoor-outdoor shopping mall has it all.
THINGS TO DO
One of the most beautiful places in Los Gatos is the
Vasona Lake County Park. It features 152 acres of beautiful, peaceful recreational land, wide sweeping lawns for picnics, kickball, or frisbee, 9.5 miles of trails, and even summer music and concert series. You can also fish for bluegill, rainbow trout, crappie, black bass, and more on the lake.
Testarossa Winery in downtown Los Gatos creates over 30,000 cases, and you can sample some of the wines any day of the week. There are several wine tasting programs, including Appellation tasting, which features five wines, and the Cumvee tasting featuring four single vineyard wines.
Castle Rock Park is excellent for hikes and mountain rides of varying difficulties. At the top of Castle Rock trail is a waterfall perfect for cooling off after your adventure. Alternatively, you can choose one of the several hikes, such as the one that leads to Goat Rock. All the trails offer fantastic views, but you'll need to watch out for poison ivy.
One of the most popular festivals in Los Gatos is Fiesta de Artes Festival. Hosted at the
Civic Center lawn, it features live music from over 200 artists. Be sure to sample the fine wine from local vineyards and the crisp craft beer.
